before 7 a.m. here in barley and I have a good reason for having us up so early this morning morning we're going to go into do a really great activity and I say really great because you can tell from the smile on my face I'm already excited about it this is something I love to do so we're off to a really selfish start this morning I hope that's okay um all right the guide is going to be here any minute now let's go and meet him and go and start this day the best way possible want to no my eyes agree it's almost like when we first met oh I don't care it's getting too late I want you and I can't wait don't want to spend a minute without you I feel the after all that horse riding it's time to eat time time to eat when I was researching everyone said come to Copenhagen you know I love Copenhagen the city so it makes sense I would come to Copenhagen the cafe and when I got here there was a queue outside to grab a table I said was dining solo and they asked the queue if anybody else was dining solo and this is the reason I'm laughing is I've made a friend I'm accidentally on a blind girl breakfast date this is Selle okay let's talk about Copenhagen so when you come here you get this piece of paper and I didn't quite realize this but this place is kind of like breakfast tapis so you choose three or five things so it's like three pieces for 75,000 five pieces for 115,000 and then each additional piece is 28,000 so basically you build your own breakfast Bard so you can do like saory and sweet together I didn't know that I might have to come back here and eat again so I can get the full experience [Music] [Music] it's amazing yum that was so nice you know one of my favorite things about solo travel is the way it opens you up and the Chance encounters you have whether that's People You Meet the tips they give you the places you stumble upon when you're just walking around by yourself I love that every day you you just get to follow your instincts and what you want to do and it always leads you somewhere amazing um I went across the street to Mama cookies so we'll talk into that cookie a little bit later but right now I want to check out a spot Called Love anchor it's like a market SL Bazar that's open every day let's [Music] Gove prove me wrong prove you right my word is Bor we don't spit no Li a daughter of the sunshine but every blue moon I come my life at night you guys I chose such a good hotel I cannot wait to show you this is the kirana now it's in a great location right near the beach the views are awesome and this room is huge plus they do the most delicious breakfast and they have this gorgeous peaceful pool I will have a link below for you so you can check it out too all right we've been in changu for a little minute now so let's get cozy in bed and talk first impressions I actually think I've been to changu before if I had been to changu before I think it would have been like 10 years ago and it was very very different my first impression of changu is that it's for the girls and if you know me you know I'm a girls girl I am for the girls um and I say it's for the girls because the energy here it has to me what feels like a very feminine energy it has things that I think girls like bakeries great breakfast and brunchs amazing coffee juices smoothies gelato spots there's markets going on there's so much cute boutiques that you can explore loads of places to get facials you know get your eyebrows done get a massage just relax one of the things I love love most about barley is the takeaway so in general with Barley if you're not used to a hot climate this kind of thing can be really overwhelming to you I'm used to it so it's fine for me but I feel like in general your approach to B and changu is going to be go out in the morning get your activities books so let's say you're buzzing off you're doing your horse riding maybe you're going up to Ood for the day or you're doing an ATV or you're doing some kind of a tour that you're booked I'll have loads linked below for you so you can check them out and find some great things to do then you know you have your lunch you come back to your hotel your Villa wherever you're staying and you relax for the afternoon that would be my advice to you and forgetting around a couple of options here in chenu um I've been doing a mix of walking and grab everything that I've wanted to see is kind of Central and I really want to stay in changu for this episode um I know we went out and did the horse riding but I I kind of like to if I'm making a video about Chango I want to stay in Chango and show you what it looks or feels like here or what my experience is here I try not to book things that take me too far away too of often otherwise well that's the point just beware the traffic here is really really bad so you may sit in traffic a lot for a really long time definitely download the grab app so you have grab like pre-loaded and ready to go on your phone um there's grab bike and there's grab car you can do either and I think the last time was in Bali you could book The grab but you had to pay cash now I'm able to pay through the app which is meaning no scams and here's the interesting thing I took a bunch of cash out saw an ATM I was like great I'll just get cashed up cuz Bal is cash culture I am stuck with all these cash everyone wants you to pay with card or you can pay with card so you may not need as much cash as you think it's refreshing very refreshing I'm doubling up on double the [Music] [Applause] hydration let's try this cookie we got oh yep yep yep yep yep yep yep yep a it's one of those really soft ones I can't lift the whole thing out I can't lift the whole thing out it's going to crumble and that's my worst nightmare can you see him let's do a smell test smell test is 10 out of 10 oh that smells really good let's just try it thanks to The Barley heat it's nice and gooey that that that looks good and you know it thank you Mama cookies yum okay I'm have to have some time what does that mean I'm going to sit here in my beautiful hotel room that I love so very much I can see the ocean and there's palm trees in everything so I don't feel like I'm being lazy missing out I can see the water I'm enjoying it right in front of me big screen television I'm about to watch a movie have my green juice relax take it easy make some travel plans and then we're going to regroup we're going to regroup in the afternoon I'll see you in a minute [Music] he asked what could he do for me I told him then my love is free but can you match me I can do it all for myself want you but I absolutely love the chill Beach Vibes here in jener it is so nice just wandering down of an off and sitting on that beach and watching the sunset I found a really great little SP um you can't miss it you can find a spot at a little beach front bar either on sandbags or up high overlooking it um I really love today the waves and the beach and the sunset and the music like that it's just the most freeing thing I absolutely love that about barley you know a lot about this place may change but the sunsets never do W that was deep that was deep B tourism feel free to take that for your next dag campaign yeah I got to tell you I I I had heard that changu was overcrowded and overhyped and all this kind of stuff I just I I don't care I love it I'm really loving it all right I've got a fun activity plan for us for tomorrow morning so I'm going to get an early night sleep and let's regroup tomorrow look at this cute dog outside the pizza shop so sweet want you bark at me now as I walk past all right I'll see you in the morning good morning you guys it is another beautiful day here in Bali and I'm super happy today because cuz we're going to go and do another great activity that I really want to do so a couple of months ago I was scrolling on the internet as you do and I saw something and I was like save that in the memory banks because when you go back to Bali next time you can book it and you can do it I booked it today is the day we're doing [Music] it put on me now if you know me you know I don't really wear perfume I've only ever found one that I really like it's by latan I think I'll put a link below for you so you can check it out it's absolutely gorgeous but when I was cruising around the internet many months ago I saw somebody say you could do a perfume making Workshop here in Chango and I was like that's me so I signed up for it it's 2 hours it's run by our projects and it cost around $64 Australian dollars and that's all inclusive you get your 50 mil bottle to take home with you which is amazing value um now the teachers are incredible the way I described it to the teacher was I want to smell like a woodland creature like a forest fairing so she helped me come up with the Perfect Blend for that and help me tweak it to get it just right then I decided I was going to make two bottles worth of it and she was like oh do you want to fit some crystals in there I was like yeah let's ause some Rose quarts some good love energy into this perfume so we put some Rose quarts in there and then the fun bit is you get to name it so I named mine Forest Berry and it's so cute and I'm so happy with it it's just when I spray it on it just feels and smells like me I'm absolutely obsessed with it I 10 out of 10 recommend doing this it is honestly such a great experience but you guys I'm hungry this place is called Shady Shack and it is beautiful the menu is unreal I was flipping through it like I did not know what to choose even though it's midday I've gone for a bricky ball so we've got some kind of like um like a root vegetable hash in there some avocado some mushrooms some sour d to a lovely coffee let's just dig in and start eating because I'm really [Music] hungry really really good B just noticed what the GS need [Music] so everything I read said that the Sunday markets here in changu Were A muster so we wandered down I say we I've made a couple of girlfriends I start talking to these beautiful girls um that were sharing the table with me at Shady Shack um so we were all like oh let's go to the markets together um we've wanded down to laa it is packed when they tell you it's packed it is packed it's cool to see but I will be honest with you it is a little too packed for my liking you can't really stop and enjoy anything you're kind of bumping into people they're stepping on on your shoes it's a little bit shove shove I'm wondering if you came at a better time if it might be better I might be here just like too late in the afternoon that everybody's out so if you were going to come here I would I would TI my run for like opening time I think it opens at 9:00 a.m. that's the shout cuz this is hectic all right this is much better um just by chance we were walking along and okay this ising shopping this is much better um just by chance we're walking along and I said to the girls oh that like a market I looked on Google Maps it's called the baliy Nikki Natural Market it is significantly less crowded than the laa market so if you want more space if you want to actually be able to look at things and Shop come here instead um you can actually see things you can actually shop I would definitely recommend this instead [Music] if I can only give you one piece of advice from this video it's choose your hotel location carefully you want to be somewhere within easy walking distance to the beach that's what I have loved about my hotel I can just wander down and sit on the beach and watch the sunset every afternoon and the sunsets here in barley are magical it's so nice being able to see them on this side of the island and then after catching the sunset once the sun went down I was so hungry so I made my way to muu and mil they were having two for one pizza night I can only eat half of one pizza to myself anyway but when I tell you the pizza here is so good I was sitting there eating my pizza and I was thinking about a conversation I had with another girl this week and she was like oh you must be really great at solo traveling now um and I was like yeah I guess so what do you mean and she was like oh I was sitting at a restaurant by myself the other day and I just felt so anxious and I felt so uncomfortable and I was worried that I was taking up space at this table and I was rushing through my meal and I just I was just stressing out and I just couldn't be there I just wanted to be in my hotel room I'm realizing that I am a completely different person to the girl who came here at the end of 2022 since that time I've been through a lot I have been through a lot and sitting in that restaurant tonight eating my Pizza I realized that I didn't care who was looking at me when I filmed I didn't care that I was there by myself I didn't feel anxious at all taking up space and taking up you know a table to myself I didn't feel like I needed to rush I didn't feel anything bad I just felt good and confident and happy and at peace let's dig into my Bali SL changu tips for you first things first you absolutely need a visa to enter Bali um you can do it online now which is fantastic and I 10 out of 10 recommend doing it that way I'll have a link in the video description for you please please only use that link or you do run the risk of falling victim to scams you can fill it out online um it is 500,000 rupia it was approved immediately it went right through I did have to have proof of my onward flight though so make sure you have an onward flight booked and you'll need to show proof of your visa and your onward flight again before you're able to check in for your flight at the airport by doing your Visa online you can go through the eates as an Australian with that kind of passport you can scan I know not all countries have that I was sing from India and all of the people with Indian passports had to go through the manual passport control another thing you do need to do um Customs form there's a QR code that you can scan it'll be on the Luggage baggage conveyor belt so you can scan that or there a computer set up where you can enter all your information in there and do your Customs form you have to do it you have to show the QR code on your way out or they won't let you into B so make sure you do that um I organized an airport transfer from the airport to my hotel with Cloe I'll have a link below for you it was like $25 I think that's incredibly good value you just go to the clo kiosk they get the driver and you're off so easy so stressfree obviously if you book a hotel with an airport transfer that's ideal as well I always get a local SIM card when I come to Barley I recommend that you get one too I've started using aolo for their eims they're so easy to install cuz you don't don't need to scan a QR code you can just pay with Apple pay on your phone install it right on the spot I'll have that Linked In the video description for you as well and I'll also have links to a whole bunch of activities I think you would love and some great resources so you can plan your perfect trip to Bley a couple of other quick tips for you I would just say always be mindful of your safety in barley um I have never had any issues with safety but I have heard of some people where Villas have been broken into and things have been stolen that's never happened to me but just something to be mindful of so I'm staying at a hotel with security that feels like the way to go you do need to be careful of things like Denay fever so please make sure you're wearing some really great mosquito repellent I've been covered in the stuff and to avoid barley belly this time if you saw my last video I ended up at the hospital with it I was so sick I'll have that video link below for you if you want to see me in the worst state of my life for now happy with my choice you're about to learn how to use proper footwork to not only utilize your offense but also how to be better on defense we're going to give you some drills and tips that you can use not only in your fights but also in sparing to make you that much more better than your opponents we know that you're going to enjoy this video watch from the beginning to the end and taking all the sauce that you can put this hand wrap out for you this is going to teach you how to walk forward and backwards but maintain that balance to make you that much more better so follow along gang uh he's in his perfect stance he's going to step forward and backward when you step backwards in mu Thai you're going to push off with the front foot and lead with the back foot it's not really too much boxing style movement you definitely don't want to put your head down it's not an MMA Style no no no we want to have a square stance we like to use counterattacks to use those counterattacks you still have to be in range you can't throw a jab and I'm all the way back here I can't Counterattack from here if he were to jab this is what we mean we say muai footwork it's those minute steps he jab b b you see I barely step back I'm leading with my back foot I blocked and I can Counterattack one more time we he pop look pop and then I Wham I can counter attack because I'm not hopping around 50 ft but I'm still within safe range because I'm protecting with my long guard and I'm protecting my area protecting my bubble that's what this footwork drill is going to teach you first things first hands up shoulder width apart in our mu we're going to step backwards when you step backwards doing mu Tha footwork you're going to push off with the front foot and you're going to lead with the back foot lead means go first right you're pushing off with the front but you're leading with the back and when you do this gang I want you to go toe heel that's very important when you push backwards I want toe heel step backwards there we go again step backwards so now the line is in the middle but he still can block right B he's still safe he has a good range can you kick from there bam yeah step back step forward bom when you're stepping forward it's Heel To Toe you're pushing off with the back leg but you're leading with the front leg and it's heel toe not toe heel heel toe what you got two pck step uh step uh step oh we he's not stepping forward and his feet is parallel he's not walking like a zombie no he's being methodical just like a snake M Come on B and if I kick oh see he's already ready he can block not only can he block he can attack right very good so that's how you're going to step forward and backwards in mu Thai that's how you step forward and backwards Square stance pushing off with the rear leg to go forward heel toe when you're stepping backwards you're pushing off with the front leg to go backwards toe heel let's keep it moving you've just gotten the basics of how to walk forward and backwards walking side to side can be a little bit more difficult but this is a great way to learn how to do it so that way you can advance in it a little bit more faster we always talk about the proverbial Center Line this time is no different when you do this drill at home you're going to walk to the right and to the left of the line you're going to push off with the right foot and lead with the left foot step left step step step step right now it's the opposite you're pushing off with the left and you're leading with the right step step go oh step seems simple enough but when you start this drill you'll notice that the line will start here and by the time you finish your foot is right here because you're not used to it if you keep going now you're parallel when you want to start this drill off you want to start off very slow and methodical visualize your opponent in front of you and you step left step visualize step left you don't want to look down make sure that you're looking at your invisible opponent's waist I see him step left step then you go to Rhythm move again relax step left step then you switch and step right remember push step step right bang make it nice and natural step right bang when you get to the end sometimes you can examine yourselves am I balanced enough can I te from here can I jab cross can I lean back can I block without without having to adjust my feet that's how you're going to test yourselves step left foot is here now I'm on the line I can't lean I can't if he were to te I can't block the te no no no so you always want to make sure that that Line's in the middle always want to make sure that you're leading with the opposite side that you're pushing to this is the opposite side I'm pushing that way step left bop and then as you get better you gradually speed it up once you start walking forth and back and you get it a little bit better you're going to start you're going to start shuffling right to left all right this isn't easy by all means Shuffle you step step step then you Shuffle this way step step step block T th examine yourself step step play with it t keep what you're doing is Shadow Boxing but you're only stepping right to left and you're going to examine yourself so Tito let's try to examine you let me get you to step right and left and then I'm just going to say stop I don't want you to move your feet at all and we're going to see how balanced you are can we try that yes let's do that stop can you block from here pop block good he didn't even adjust his feet keep going stop good B jab bang Shuffle there we go jab shop Shuffle line in the middle Cross Pop block bom very nice so now we want you guys to observe the movement of forth and back but also you're going to take uh slight angles when you're doing your footwork I want you to examine Tito's footwork and I want you to implement these strategies in your own muita sparring Shadow Boxing in your fights here we go the game of muita is very basic I step forward he step back and then sometime he turns turns very nice let's see that turn one more time but I want you to slow it down I'm walking forward he uses his lead hand and watch how he pushes and turns again turn that's it I can't kick his legs I can't attack him from here he can block can you kick me from here Ram yes how do I know that he can kick me from that range because he touched with his lead hand he can always attack from here so he turn pop he's in the range that's perfect range I don't want you to forget that don't let people just run you down and you only back straight in the line when you feel too much pressure keep the right hand pinned to your head and I want you to Le with this strong hand Wham I'm backing up backing up Wham look at this room but I was strong with my lead hand it's kind of like a matador you're the Matador and they're the bull so let's do it one more time there you go there we go good good quarter turn again bop bop good back back back step good quarter turn again Bob quarter quarter turn there we go I'm a little too close give me a quarter turn every time he quarter turns every time you quarter turn you're going to make sure that your belly button is facing your opponent the belly button isn't facing your opponent then it's going to be K leg kick Central every time I step bom my belly button is here if he step to this side Bop uh he come forward I quarter turn look my belly button is facing him the whole time push back I step h i step it's right there so that's what you have to do make sure that that belly button is square that's going to allow you to block the leg kicks that's going to allow you to block the body kicks it actually makes the kicks a little bit faster because you have a square stance and that foot is already open that's part of footwork you doing a fast kick you don't want to just have it here bladed cuz how can I open up the hip so fast M this is a game of milliseconds if me and you are here and I and you want a right kick and I want a right kick who you think is going to get here faster me why I'm already open you he's his hip is already open so let's try it let's try that theory out on a count of three quick draw one two three he got there first he got there first because his hip was already open that's the advantage of having the square stance and keeping the belly button faced towards your opponent so a quick drill that we want you to use at home to improve your mu top footwork is the two-line drill all you have to do is put out two hand wraps and you're going to put them in the middle just like we showed you earlier in the video and from there all you do is just freestyle with your shadow box and You Freestyle with your stepping but make sure that you implement those strategies um you're going to push off with the right going left push off with the left going right heel toe toe heel and everything in between give them a few seconds of a Tito adding your circling adding your stepping back good adding your movement don't forget to put the hand out when you turn there we go you're going to put that hand out when you turn throw a couple of shots bang bang stepping back retreating shuffling all that good stuff Bop make sure that the line is is in the middle every single time block good bop bop what about leaning Bop uh lean there you go good good good footwork good footwork good footwork good footwork you want to always step into the shots this isn't realistic okay man if we're fighting I'm not going to say jab cross no I'm trying to hurt him just like he's trying to hurt me so I step into it this line drill you're going to do the same thing how do we jab from here from jab jab we go back right again Jab then we go back again bpop then we go back when you do your cross jab cross how do you do bang bang good he's not in the same quadrant of lines back again so you're going to bpop bang good every time you jab change quadrants every Becoming a UX Designer

it's a non-negotiable if you want to get a job in ux design there is not that many opportunities here you're going to have to get in the same mindset I would say this is by far the hardest phase in becoming a ux designer so this time around I would invest way more in but now knowing what I know I would definitely do a different strategy I became a ux designer 6 years ago and I have learned a ton I've made mistakes I've failed I've succeeded I've peaked behind too many curtains and in this economy in this America in in this new year if I were to become a ux designer all over again I'd actually do a lot of things differently so in this video we're going to go over everything I would do differently if I were to start over from scratch and try to become a ux designer in this new year in order to explain everything I do differently it would require us to look at the timeline of becoming a ux designer so let's go back to the beginning now the timeline of becoming a ux designer goes as follows you have the discovery stage is where you're trying to figure figure out if you even want to pursue ux design you have the learning stage that's when you're learning about ux and then you have the job application stage I'm going to go through each stage and tell you what I would do differently within each of those so depending on where you're at in your journey or you haven't even started yet you'll have some tips and tricks to help you along the way let's start with the discovery stage this is the stage where you're like what is ux I want to do something different with my life now this phase is all about research and before we jump into what I do differently let me tell you what I did just to give you some context it's pretty obvious that basically I was just trying to figure out what a ux designer does so that's me like going on YouTube and watching a bunch of day in the lives I read a ton of medium articles and I won't lie to you I was looking at a ton of different other careers like acupuncturist or like marketing manager or like event planner but with ux design I was pretty hooked instantly but but but what would I change now that it's been 6 years and is there anything I would do differently in this discovery stage let me tell you the first year of being a young designer I already was like oopsies I don't think I did enough research because I realized I was doing a lot of things that I didn't like some examples of those things were like too many meetings or a lot of debating and at that time it basically felt like arguing I was like is this a scene straight out of Bad Girls Club I have a lot more to say about the things that I don't like about ux design so you're going to want to check one of these videos out next because that just goes into way more in depth into a rant and I can't rant right now okay I don't have the time we got to keep moving it's kind of wild though because that's why I started this channel because back then all the content that I was consuming was very much glamorizing ux as a job all of them were posted by universities or the programs itself or the boot camps themselves so of course they were going to be a little bit biased so basically what I was seeing was like money MacBooks everywhere free sushi for lunch and Tech Bros in arteric vests that one still exists but what it didn't do is that it didn't highlight the fact that being a ux designer is not 100% about designing I explained that way more in my recent video about how I barely use figma anymore so check that one out next open a new tab get after it after you watch this whole video so now that you have context about what I used to do let me tell you what I would do today the first one is getting the ugly truth I know it's giving True Detective it's giving Sherlock Holmes it's giving Perez Hilton digging up dirt and Scandals since my time there is so many more creators out there in the ux industry in the tech field over on Tik Tock or Instagram or more here on YouTube that are willing to talk about the raw truth of what it's like working in Tech or working as a ux designer the Second Avenue would actually be to go on LinkedIn and get over any kind of cringe and reach out to First connections or second connections or anyone that you know that works as a ux designer and literally asking them their story and being like tell me the tea girl I also would highly suggest if you cannot find a ux designer on LinkedIn that you can talk to find someone adjacent like product managers Engineers what is their experience like working with ux designers and does that sound something like you would want to do basically what I'm telling you to do here is block out the noise from all these universities or ux programs or courses so you feel like you have a credible source to give you the real story because what I would hate to do if I had to start over is pour like $6,000 or $10,000 into into some type of program or course or like hours and hours of my own self-taught time just to figure out that I'm not even going to like the career and I would hate to feel like I wasted any of that when I just should have done more research upfront I will put a disclaimer here and say like yes I do have a lot of videos about joining boot camps and the boot camp that I join and I do have links in my descriptions like I will not sugarcoat you on that but that's cuz I genuinely think it worked out for me but I want you to make your own decision on that I don't want any one else to influence you to feel like you have to now the second thing is market research since I broke into the ux field a lot has changed in the tech industry we're seeing more layoffs we're seeing potentially more companies taking on less roles and so I would do the extra layer of due diligence and figuring out if ux is in demand based off of where you live I also do talk about the changes in the ux market right now so I would also watch that video next so let me give you an example for me in San Diego ux is not a hot market so when I decided to become a ux designer I should have done a little bit more research to figure out if there was enough ux design jobs here in San Diego instead of just kind of jumping into it and hoping that the amount of us jobs that we going to stay in San Diego were going to be that way because now I won't lie to you there is not that many opportunities here so I just would take the time to really figure out and make sure that like that this career is going to pay off in the long run and that you're going to be able to have opportunities way way way into the future based off of like your lifestyle and where you want to live geographically also aside from where you actually live you're also going to want to think about how you want to work so when I say that I mean like remote hybrid Flex like going into the office I've just been seeing less and less remote roles which is very unfortunate at least like for me because I love to stay home and I just want to like wear my comfy sweatpants and be a slug and then like cuddle my dog whenever I want and go over and like give him a kiss and then like go back to work like I can't imagine not doing that honestly I think I could only go back into the office if they let me bring my baby let's move on to the next phase which is learning ux this is where most people would start to think about how do I want to learn ux whether that's self-taught or University or a course or boot camp and I do have a video on that which I will link up here it is so important to take the time to figure out how you're going to learn ux based off of cost and your lifestyle and your learning Pace this might be a little bit of an unpopular opinion so don't sue me it's all gravy and all to be in figma and learn how to design and move buttons around and learn all the different hover States and wire Framing and prototyping and ux research but to be fully transparent with you I don't think living in pixel land was 100% worth my time but don't get me wrong learning the ins and outs of a design process is incredibly important like you literally have to do it it's a non-negotiable if you want to get a job in ux design however if I were to redo this all over again I wouldn't put so much time into it because in a way boot camp kind of took care of a lot of that for me now let me explain what I mean by that the problem that I have with what I was doing was that when I was learning ux design I'd say like 99% of it was like ux design prototyping UI design wireframing and I was severely lacking learning about any soft skills so if I were to take that same pie instead of 99 % of ux design I would take at least 30 to 40% learning about soft skills and learning about how to work with people as a ux designer how to navigate Politics as a ux designer how to communicate your designs and articulate them and defend them and make sure that they keep moving forward look at it this way boot camp is essentially like school and school teaches you Math and Science and the curriculum and you do homework and whatever but what school doesn't teach you is those group school projects trauma literal trauma we were not equipped to handle different personalities in a group and like you have the slacker you have someone who just takes lead you have someone who just kind of Coast by that's going to be what it's like being a ux designer especially when you work in a Triad which is you product manager and a tech lead it is the same exact thing so this time around I would invest way more in communicating with stakeholders and communicating your designs and honestly developing the right relationships so you can move forward forward I I hate saying this but like it is a corporate game let's move on to the next phase which is finding a job I would say this is by far the hardest phase in becoming a ux designer because it is not easy you have to have thick skin and you have to have some serious motivation but in this new year my job hunting strategy would be so much more different than what I would have done years ago and by the way I do have a lot more other videos going into depth about what the ux job market is like and how to adapt based off of your personality and your strategy and your background so I'll link those down in the bottom but I'll sum up some of my main points for you here as I say some of these points out loud I'm realizing that they're kind of in the phase of learning ux design but also job applying they might have a little bit of an overlap so don't sue me if I did a redo the first thing I would do before job applying is actually learn about AI the amount of times I've had to say this word this year and as much as I hate talking about it because it's incessant I think learning about conversational AI or image recognition or VR or any type of AI that you might be passionate about would be so helpful for me because it would automatically I think give me a little bit of a leg up in the game because so many companies are obsessed with this word right now like if they're obsessed you're going to have to get in the same mindset and I know you're probably like how in the world am I supposed to access learning about AI design if I don't even have projects with actual stakeholders and I'm I'm just trying to learn the basics in the criteria of getting a new job in ux I would say this is a nice to have I would not say this is a musthave but if you have the time and you have the brain bandwidth for it why not and again this is what I would do and this is like a Mimi who has an abundance of time to where she's giving up having her wine on the weekend and going completely dark on YouTube another thing I would do differently is I would just do a lot more trial and error I was just doing what boot camp told me to do but now knowing what I know I would definitely do a different strategy especially with my portfolio back then with my portfolio I was doing different case studies I was really diversifying what I was putting on my portfolio I would do like a mobile case study a redesign an e-commerce but now I think I would try a different approach and I actually have a video out literally the most recent one and it's talking about niching your portfolio down and in that video I go through a step by step on exactly how to do it so I would look get that video next I would just try a lot more and Tinker my process as I'm going because clearly at some point what I was doing wasn't working but I was too afraid to change it and I really think we need to get in the better mindset of being ux designers and iterating base off of what we're seeing and the output same process that we use in ux design I would very much apply that to my job search you're in the mist of looking for a us design job and you need a little bit more motivation and you need some comfort then I would say watch these
